U16 Bank of Ireland Munster Conference 2 Killarney RFC 37 Tralee 7

Killarney eventually ran out convincing winners over Tralee at Aghadoe last Saturday. In the early stages, Killarney had Tralee penned in their own half but 13 minutes had elapsed before Liam McCarthy opened the scoring with a try off a 5m scrum. Cathal Sugrue converted. Luke O'Malley added a second soon after with a fine solo run and Killarney were out to a 2 score lead. A third try arrived shortly before half time when Tralee were caught napping from quick tap penalty by Liam McCarthy. What appeared to be a fourth try just before half time was chalked off due to crossing.

Tralee's hopes of a second half comeback with the aid of a fairly strong breeze were dashed early on as Cian Stack scored in the corner off another quickly taken tap penalty. The killer blow came soon after when Cian Stack charged down a kick on half way and regathered to run unopposed under the posts.

Soon after Robbie Casey scored a fine try - cutting back across the drifting defence. Tries from Jack Gabbett and another from Liam McCarthy completed the scoring with Tralee breaking duck between them.
