U16 Munster Cup - Group 4 Killarney RFC 24 Skibbereen RFC 17

Killarney went into an early 7-0 lead through a try from John Sexton, but fell behind 17-7 by half time. In a hard-fought contest, Killarney scored 2 second half tries from Mikey Moroney and Sean P Fleming to lead 21-17 coming down the straight. Excellent positional kicking with the aid of a strong breeze kept Skibbereen in their own half for much of the second half and excellent defence kept them scoreless. The win was sealed with a penalty on the full time whistle.

Scorers - Tries - Sexton, Moroney, Flemig; Cons - Sugrue(2), Stack; Pen - Stack;

Next fixture - Saturday 16th December vs Midleton (away)

Sunday 10 December

U14 West Munster League - Killarney RFC 24 Listowel RFC 24

Killarney started fast and Shane Tomlinson scored 2 tries - both converted - to give us an early 14-0 lead. Listowel came back into it and poor tackling allwoed them to score two ties to bring the score back to 14-10 at half time. Listowel went ahead in the second half to lead 17-14, a third Shane Tomlinson try had us back in front at 19-17. Listowel got a converted try to lead 24-19 with time running out, but Killarney got back into field position and scrum half Peter O'Callaghan found a gap to sprint home from short range. The strong breeze meant we were unable to convert this try to win, and a draw was a fair result.

Scorers - Tries - Tomlinson(3), O'Callaghan; Cons - Moynihan (2);

Next fixture - Sunday 17th December vs Iveragh Eagles (home)
