Match Report: Kerry u18s vs. Kilrush RFC played in Listowel on Saturday.
Our amalgamated Kerry u18s Girls team produced a strong attacking display to overcome Kilrush RFC 44-25 in challenging conditions at Listowel, in what was a very fair and sporting game. The wind played a factor early on, leading to some handling errors, but Kerry settled quickly and built a commanding first-half lead.
Our girls started the game strong with an early score from Jess. Kilrush responded swiftly with their own score to level. From there though, our girls found their rhythm, with Ellen, Keelin, and Cara all adding tries. Eliza was on target with two conversions, giving Kerry a 22-5 lead at the break.
In the second half our girls continued their momentum, with Keelin adding two more tries to complete her hatrick. Eliza’s reliable kicking added further points from the tee. Kilrush fought back with a try, but we kept the scoreboard ticking over with Riona and Ella also getting on the scoresheet. Despite Kilrush’s late resurgence of 3 tries towards the end of the game, our girls had done enough to secure a well-earned 44-25 victory.
Final Score: Kerry 44-25 Kilrush
It was a strong team performance from our u18 girls, with a standout contribution from Keelin getting her hatrick. Kilrush showed great resilience, especially in the second half, but our early dominance proved decisive.
Onwards now to a semi-final in the Munster Plate competition!
