Played at Waterpark RFC, Waterford on Sunday.

KILK booked their place in the Munster Plate final after a fantastic 29-21 victory over Waterpark RFC in a thrilling semi-final clash. Both teams delivered an outstanding display of rugby, despite very windy conditions on a sunny day hampering ball passing for both teams, but KILK’s attacking firepower and resilience saw them emerge victorious.

The game got off to a strong start for KILK as Ellen powered over for the opening try, which Isabelle calmly converted. Waterpark responded swiftly with a converted try of their own to level the scores. KILK then regained control, with Nessa crossing the line for an unconverted try, followed by Emma adding another (also not converted), to give KILK a well-earned halftime lead of 17-7.

After the break, KILK continued their momentum as Nessa grabbed her second try of the match, once again unconverted. Waterpark refused to back down, scoring another converted try to stay in the contest. However, Isabelle soon made her mark again, scoring a crucial try and converting it herself to push KILK further ahead.

Waterpark fought until the very end, managing to score a converted try just before the final whistle, but it wasn’t enough to stop KILK from securing a well-deserved 29-21 victory.

Thanks to coaches TJ and Chip, manager Anne and the travelling supporters who rallied behind our girls.

A special mention goes to Ciara and Lily Mae, who both picked up injuries during the match. The entire team, management and supporters send their best wishes for a speedy recovery. They have had an incredible season, and we hope to see them back on the pitch soon.

KILK’s fantastic teamwork and determination have earned them a place in the final, and they will now look ahead with confidence as they aim to bring home the Munster Plate title!
