These are challenging times and we understand there are frustrations on multiple levels. We would just ask that any frustrations or anger be left outside the club because the club's volunteers deserve better. They give willingly of their time to create a fun, friendly and respectful atmosphere at all ages. Kids and adults alike deserve to be treated with absolute respect at all times.
We would just ask everyone to make an effort over the coming weeks so we can get back to the incredibly respectful environment we have had in past seasons. If you have frustrations regarding how any aspect of the club or game is being run please share these in a respectful and positive manner. If you feel you can do a better job please feel free to volunteer.
A few key areas:
- Treat everyone like you would like your mum or dad to be treated;
- We are all increasingly used to instant responses and replies. This is a volunteer organisation and those volunteers have outside commitments. Please keep that in mind;
- Absolute respect for coaches;
- Absolute respect for our volunteers (non coach/player);
- Absolute respect for referees. If you think you can do a better job please volunteer to become a ref.
- No matter what mistakes a player makes players and coaches should encourage, not criticise. There should be zero tolerance of any belittling or condescending behaviour by coaches or players;
If you see behaviour on or off the pitch that is out of line, don't be afraid to call it out. You will have the full backing of the club.
Alternatively, feel free to report it in confidence to a trusted club member.
