U16 and U18 Girls in Munster Trials:

Last weekend some of our U16's and U18's girls played their hearts out in the Munster Development games to make next reduction in numbers to the squad - a very  tough decision for Munster. The U18s were in Fermoy in County Cork on Sat in terrible conditions, while the weather was a bit better for the U16s who were in county Clare at Ballina/Killaloe RFC on Sunday.

To have 9 girls in the u16s programme and 4 girls in 18s programme from Killarney rugby club is a very proud moment for our club - a result from all the hard work put in from players, our coaches and parents. Our u16 girls who took part were Niamh Dorrian, Bronagh Dorrian, Clodagh Foley, Ali O'Donoghue, Molly Gabbet, Katie O'Donoghue and Fia Whelan. missing were Ava O'Malley and Marina Eagar.

Congratulations to our 3 KRFC u18 players who went forward for Munster Trials today in tough wintry conditions in Fermoy. The girls have been training in MTU Friday evenings for the past few weeks. The girls who braved the elements in Fermoy on Saturday were Lily Morris, Aisling Cahill and Molly Jenkinson. Killarney RFC are incredibly proud of you all.

Girls rugby at Killarney RFC has really taken off in the past couple of years and we now field teams at U14, U16 and U18 as well as at Minis. With strong support from our committee we hope that girls rugby will continue to grow from strength to strength. Some of these girls didn't know what they were missing and decided to give it a try - and it's never too late to give rugby a try. New players always welcome at all ages. for any details please contact Liam Murphy (Minis) on 087-4145662, Fiona Landers (U14) on 087-2304689 or Anne Gabbett (U14/U18) on 087-3125722.
