Some of our U16s girls got to experience a special blast from the past on Wedneday last, visiting Cullina National School with the U16 Girls Munster cup! The reason this occasion was so special: 11 of the U16 champion team attended Cullina in Beaufort, of which 7 of those girls are on the Munster U16 development squad! So, there is definitely something in the Beaufort water!

With Coach Diarmuid O’Malley and Team Manager Anne Gabbett also from Beaufort, it made the visit all the more special for us. Leona Twiss, principle, teachers and all the students gave the girls a wonderful welcoming round of applause, followed by lovely speeches from Leona and Diarmuid. Students had lots of great questions, with our vice-captain Katie O Donoghue answering all.

With a rugby ball presented to the school towards their sport equipment and the girls presented with Easter eggs from their former teachers, we left Cullina school with both teachers and former students beaming with pride.
